Ballet Classes and Movement to Music now on Zoom

Poppy cat joins Zoom ballet

Hi everyone,

Since the pandemic lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, our fabulous studio classes have ended, so I’ve moved our ballet classes over to Zoom.

I wanted our classes to continue, so that we have some time to move freely, feel inspired and relax – as well as expressing ourselves like ballet dancers again.  I wanted to keep our dance community going, and I’m aware that many of our dancing friends have experienced job losses or lower incomes, so some of these events will be free during the pandemic.

So this is what I’ve organised as part of our transition to online dancing. The times are all UK BST.  Feel free to contact me at natobin@icloud.com if you want to join any of these classes

  • Tuesday at 11am: Ballet – Zoom or facetime.  Usually 1.5 hours max. With plenty of time for water and a chat before and after. A friendly, welcoming class with easy to perform steps that are kind to the body.
  • Wednesday at 11.15 am: Dance for cancer patients and their carers/families. Designed to help us stay fit, well, chill out a bit and have fun. Usually 1 hour with plenty of breaks and chat.  On Zoom and delivered with Wessex Cancer Trust.
  • Thursday at 6.30pm: Ballet barre to relax and unwind.  Usually 1 hr 15 mins with a chat and water breaks.  A busy and friendly group.  A simple ballet barre with some lyrical movements.  On Zoom and also Facetime.

Pavilion Dance South West (PDSW) have set up a YouTube channel and include an example of our weekly ballet barre class and are worth a visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwo5hCW_9jQ&t=673s&ab_channel=PavilionDance

Looking forward to dancing with you again soon.  Look out for our cat Poppy on our zoom classes and do get in touch for the Zoom code for each class

xxx Natasha
